Computation Fluid Dynamics Modeling
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling is used extensively in many of STEP Combustion’s designs of NOx and other emissions reduction systems. In addition, CFD modeling is also used to evaluate and correct flow distributions in ducts, windboxes, and burners. Both cold-flow and combustion kinetic modeling are used to evaluate system performance, and serve as an aid in the unit optimization. Through a thorough understanding of the fluid dynamic properties in a particular furnace, additional reductions can often be attained. Boiler Testing/Optimization
Whether an existing unit or burner replacement/upgrade project, a thorough evaluation of unit performance and combustion optimization is performed to ensure that the unit is operating at its optimum performance level. In addition to burner optimization, STEP combustion also provides fuel and air balancing. Often overlooked, imbalances in burner to burner fuel and air distributions result in unnecessarily elevated emissions. STEP combustion’s fuel and air balancing can root out and correct the sources of imbalance and provide significant operating and emissions improvements. Emissions Testing and RATA’s
STEP Combustion provides emissions testing services for all of your plants needs. NOx, particulate, SO2, SO3, Hg, and VOC emissions testing along with optimization experience provides a rare blend of combustion and process expertise along with emissions testing capabilities. This blend of diagnostic and testing capabilities assures you that every effort is made to correct issues which may be effective your emissions testing.
Custom Machined Hardware
STEP Combustion provides replacement burner hardware for our proprietary designs and other OEM hardware. Atomizers, gas spuds and pokers, coal spreaders and flame stabilizers of all configurations can be provided. STEP combustion provides competitive hardware pricing along with manufacturing expertise, which guarantees that replacement hardware performs according to the original design specification. STEP Combustion can also provide boiler tubes, metal fabrications (Ductwork, OFA Ports), and process control and instrumentation equipment.
