Fluid Dynamic SprayComputation Fluid Dynamics Modeling

 

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling is used extensively in many of STEP Combustion’s designs of NOx and other emissions reduction systems.  In addition, CFD modeling is also used to evaluate and correct flow distributions in ducts, windboxes, and burners.  Both cold-flow and combustion kinetic modeling are used to evaluate system performance, and serve as an aid in the unit optimization.  Through a thorough understanding of the fluid dynamic properties in a particular furnace, additional reductions can often be attained. Boiler Testing/Optimization

 

Whether an existing unit or burner replacement/upgrade project, a thorough evaluation of unit performance and combustion optimization is performed to ensure that the unit is operating at its optimum performance level.  In addition to burner optimization, STEP combustion also provides fuel and air balancing. Often overlooked, imbalances in burner to burner fuel and air distributions result in unnecessarily elevated emissions.  STEP combustion’s fuel and air balancing can root out and correct the sources of imbalance and provide significant operating and emissions improvements.  Please contact us for more information regarding balancing programs for air, coal, oil and gas.

 

Emissions Testing and RATA’s

Custom Machined Hardware

STEP Combustion can also provide boiler tubes, metal fabrications (Ductwork, OFA Ports), and process control and instrumentation equipment.
